How is Holographic Fabric Made?

Holographic fabric is a highly stretchable material for dancewear that begins as standard spandex or Lycra, both of which are easily washable.

To create holographic fabric, the manufacturer engages in an innovative process with the "base" spandex fabric. Initially, the stretchy surface of plain spandex is coated with shiny or metallic color. At this stage, it is referred to as surface-printed spandex, which can be somewhat challenging to launder, but is still quite easy to hand wash.

In the second step, a layer of holographic effects or visuals is masterfully overlaid onto the first layer of shiny or metallic colors. This process culminates in a stunning reflective hologram on the fabric's surface. The result is spectacular, reflecting light to create a captivating 3D effect.
